The cup, which was handed down through the Musgrave family of Edenhall, Cumberland, England, is associated with a fairy legend. A group of fairies was disturbed while dancing near Eden Hall. As they disappeared, leaving this cup, the Queen fairy exclaimed "If e'er this cup should break or fall, Farewell the Luck of Eden
