This is a Pre Wold War Two produced Skullgard Type K helmet manufactured by the Mine Safety Appliances Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Skullgard brand helmet was developed by The Mine Safety Appliances Company in the 1930s. The hat is made of pressed fiber with a leather sweatband and basic web suspension liner. It was intended for mining and work site safety. This example was painted in two tone gold blue
