This charming Japanese dragon-shaped cast iron or lead flower / ikebana frog I believe dates from the 1930s

this frog would be great perched on a shelf or sitting on a desk keeping an eye on things

and a crack at one corner where one slab meets another

it would be great at the center of the dinner table or on a mid-century modern credenza

Coney Island Vintage Handkerchief Box with Waterskier Philadelphia but with its solid blackI just adore the painted water skiing woman on this vintage handkerchief box, a souvenir from Coney Island circa 1950s. Constructed of leather covered cardboard with a red fabric lining, it's definitely seen some use, but I think is all the better for it. If no longer for handkerchiefs, I think it would be terrific for holding love letters, or else an assortment of trinkets collected on various travels. The box measures 5 3 4 square and 1 5 8" tall.
