the  highest portion measures 1/2" inch high

and as saturated as if it were painted yesterday

including first generation modern carvers Eli

and one which I think would make the ultimate Valentine for one's love or one's self

I found this one on a day at Brimfield when I had come across a sequence of nice old carved animals that were priced beyond what I could justify happily my patience was rewarded. Photos give a good sense, including of its very soulful feeling carved out eyes. The mane and tail I believe are made of straw bristles, with the way the mane falls to one side of the neck I think especially beautiful looks like it was adhered via small holes cut
