Original British Vickers WWI Dated Mk I Oil Can Spanish Military Equipment 496 M1865 Spencer carbines beingOriginal Item: We have found a few Mk I oil cans dated from WW1. This is the first oil can issued with the Vickers Medium Machine Gun. The can is constructed of plated steel with a brass screw cap. Ours are the early version with a brush attached to the cap. The capacity is 0. 5 pint. The official name is CAN, OIL, MG, MK I, and it was introduced in February of 1915. These are all marked T. E. BLADON&SON LTD followed by the date. See Dolf Goldsmith,
