Old Ironstone Transferware Eye Ointment Eye Wash Vessel (Presumed Advertising Give Away) burmese lacquer box coffee and teaThere were a number of different makers of "Eye Ointment" in late 19th century England, meant to cure all sorts of eye diseases, and leaving behind some wonderful jars and graphics. This little vessel I believe may have been an advertising giveaway, and I believe meant to catch the liquid from an eye wash. In addition to the fantastic graphics, I love the form of it, looking like a miniature bourdaloue, and so of course also making me think of
