I also really love the way the handle of the piece housing two balls reads as yet another ball in cage as it locks into the other piece

(The tail and the ears make me believe it is a bear

Wonderful Antique Carved Wolf Head Pipe Bowl running boy I presume it dates fromI take this as a wolf with those exposed teeth, though I suppose it could be an especially ferocious dog! Whatever the case, quite a beautiful pipe bowl I'd say, which looks to have been carved from burl wood to me which gives the wonderful effect of a curly mane. Most definitely it was used, with blackening around and inside the opening of the bowl and a rich patina everyone else. 19th c. I believe and very lovely. 2 3 4 l x 2 t X 1 3 4 w, and nice
