From the factory, your Duramax uses a dowel pin on the crankshaft to hold the balancer in place. In both stock and performance applications, these dowel pins are easily sheared causing the balancer to spin on the snout of the crankshaft. When this balancer spins, it can throw off the balance of the engine and
