This is a very interesting example of a 1939 dated black leather hardshell holster for the Luger Pistole 08 (P. 08), which was used by German forces during WWI & WWII. Towards the end of WWI the standard color for pistol holsters was changed from brown to black, and that continued through the WWII Period. This holster however looks like it may have originally been brown, and then was finished black during the war. It
