Description

I think these French wicker covered flasks are so lovely

and the French title--"L'Homme avec son ours" (Man with his bear)--written on the underside perfectly articulates the best friend status of this particular bear

sold as a pair because surely they are love birds after all this time together

so it is best laying horizontally

19th C. Calligraphic Ink Drawing of "The Dragon" on Laid Paper handmade punch and judy I think these French wickerIt appears this wonderful little drawing was salvaged from the manuscript notebook of a Lucy Claflen a long time ago, with "The heavens declare the glory of God" written in beautiful script on the reverse counterpointing the lair of the dragon! Early 19th c. I believe, and what a fantastic dragon, with curled tail ending in an arrow to match its arrow of a tongue, and fabulous wings, making it seem especially poised to grab an evil doer and carry them
