It appears to be carved of stone

They’ve definitely seen some coffees — and perhaps some cocktail hours as well - but I find them all the more endearing for the wear

and in Texas at the Midland Center for the Arts in 1954

with a great contrast between the sharp edges of the cages and the soft curves of the chain links

Based on a couple of (super sweet!) hand drawn maps, I believe our Willis likely lived in Port Jefferson in Suffolk County, NY, on the North Shore of Long Island.
