This is a very nice example of a WWII Issue Carry Case for the M1 Garand Rifle, officially known as the "semi automatic rifle, caliber 30, M1." This case was intended for transporting the rifle easily when in non combat areas, keeping it free from dirt and wear. This example is maker marked under the top flap: SHANE MFG. CO. 1944. This example is made of OD Green #7 Canvas, which has faded a bit over the years. This
