Now this is a rare opportunity! We have previously only had one of these very scarce Italian Vetterli Carbines with an original bayonet. However, this example has a serial number matched bayonet! This is the original bayonet that was issued with the rifle, almost 150 years ago! The M1870 Vetterli is a somewhat strange looking carbine, however these were no doubt quite effective in Italy during the 1870s. The M1870
