On 1 July 1942 it was redesignated the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment

Included on the left hand side of the wood stock next to the receiver is a large stamped oblong box containing much Japanese script which we understand gives the name and details of the training camp/facility to which the rifle was allotted

The later models changed the ammunition box attachment point and made this adaptation unnecessary

other than the British proof marks

Black walnut stock is in excellent condition overall with just normal dings and nicks from use and storage
