I believe these would particularly have been used for polishing buttons on uniforms

Scuffs and scrapes all over and a little paint loss along the edges

as a planter for a narcissus or amaryllis

There is a little scratching to the wood of the exterior

This patch of flame stitching on linen satisfies the itch, though I'm guessing done just as a practice sampler of sorts.
