The blade has been mounted onto a horn hilt made of exotic material

which is quite striking

and represented a prayer for the soldier which was conducted as each knot was made

but we have not been able to verify this

This early HJ Knife is a solid example of the type, with a handle that is nickel plated over a steel base. The plating still remains in excellent condition, with about 90% still intact and shiny.
