Believed to have shape-shifting qualities and called upon in ritual in order to clarify visions

the bowl itself measures 4 1/4" in diameter and 1 3/4" tall

which were likely once feet on a piece of furniture

Pretty great just hung on the wall though, with its red tongue confronting you at eye level! I am sure this piece is Mexican, and I believe it dates from the early 20th century when it would have been used as a festival dance mask.
