Footnote: The Latvian aircrew trained in Poland, the badge issued in three grades: gold (gilt), silver and bronze. This particular badge was for a Military Air Dispatcher, who retrieved messenger tubes from a plane or balloon, as evidenced by the tube in the eagle's beak.
