When We Are Kind (HC) Christmas No Place for Fairness: IndigenousWhen We Are Kind is a childrens picture book by Monique Gray Smith of Cree, Lakota and Scottish ancestry; and illustrated by Nicole Neidhardt, who is Din (Navajo) on her mothers side and a blend of European ancestry on her fathers side. When We Are Kind celebrates simple acts of everyday kindness and encourages children to explore how they feel when they initiate and receive acts of kindness in their lives. Celebrated author Monique Gray Smith has
